Experiment with AI-text generation
My experience with the blog Assignment 5 in my class MCO426 this summer was really helpful. I was able to learn the Google Docs editing process. Though I have used Google docs before, I had never used Google Docs with its editing interface before. I had always used Pages on my Mac and sometimes Microsoft Word. My experience with the assignment was helpful for understanding how vague and generic content is produced by generative AI.
To write this blog, I used Gemini by Google. I am learning that the content it produces is not very articulate; it is just a better collection of vocabulary data from the large language model that Gemini AI is based on. I still think AI is a helpful tool that helps us produce and correct things quickly, but to produce a rich in quality articles, we still need an actual human to think in real time. This is because content by AI is just a collection of data and reading information created by it does not feel like a crafted or well thoughtful piece of writing.
My experience with this assignment helped me understand several things, such as how to think critically and spot a well crafted piece of content by a human compared to AI generated information. We are still in the very early development of AI. In the future, the production of content might be better, but in my opinion, I feel my time was more valued when I spent it interacting with content produced by an actual human.
I do trust Gemini AI somewhat for suggesting me fixes for my grammar because it is based on large language model. It has a great set of data to identify my mistakes in grammar but I do not fully trust it to develop me the content for my class because I always feel the quality of content is not good enough and it is not very articulated.
